Analog Magazine Rack Black by S. Legald for Normann Copenhagen

As a small rebellion in the digital world, Simon Legald designed the Analog magazine rack. Analog has a modern and understated design. Surprisingly, the inspiration for Analog is taken from the digital world. The sides with holes are inspired by 90's computer hardware that had similar perforations to cool electronics. While the details are nostalgic for the technology, the shape is classic: two separate compartments and practical handles underpin the design. The industrial, coated steel gives the rack a modern and expressive feel. With Analog, Simon Legald has created an unpretentious magazine rack that provides a casual and easy cool feel.

Simon Legald graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the summer of 2012. His work includes both small and large scale products. Simon's designs are often created in dialogue between craft and industry. He also likes to incorporate techniques necessary for the structure of the product, emphasizing them visually.
