Persian Carpet Saroug-Mir 230x295, Iran, 1980s

Persian Saroug-Mir carpet made in Iran in the 1980s hand-knotted from the highest quality wool. It is characterized by a compact, pleasant to the touch, shiny rune and beautiful colors and design. It is in a very good condition. No fringes, shorter edges trimmed. The shadows visible in the pictures are the result of the pile arrangement. Carpet refreshed by extraction and professional steam cleaner.

Saruk is the name of carpets with a rich history, which are woven in the city of the same name, but also in Iraq and its surroundings. Other names of these carpets made in this area are: Farahan Saruk, Mahal, Mohajaran Saruk, Muskabad and Viss/Golpajegan. The first successes of Saruk carpets can be attributed to the American market. These carpets are still very popular with Persian carpets. They are made of high quality wool. The most common patterns are floral or bot motifs, while the main colours are ivory beige, red and blue.
