The porcelain figurine Puffin was designed in 2016 by Adam Spała. Manufactured by AS Ćmielów, it was handmade from the highest quality porcelain and then decorated with ceramic paints by the painters. The product has a special protection in the form of under-glazed and glazed signs. The products manufactured in our factory have, among others, the factory logo underneath. The figurine is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, which includes information about manual production and decoration, as well as information about the product (name, name of the designer, year of design). In case of figurines, a unique product number is additionally entered into the certificate (assigned according to factory marking systems).
The designs of the first figures were created at the Institute of Industrial Design around 1955. A group of designers, including Henryk Jędrasiak, Lubomir Tomaszewski, Hanna Orthwein and Mieczysław Naruszewicz, were tasked with designing intimate ceramic sculptures to decorate a modern interior. In total, about one hundred models were created, which depict mainly animals, less often people.
Adam Spała, born in 1956, is the 12th owner of the AS Ćmielów Porcelain Factory. For many years he has been designing and creating porcelain works. He draws inspiration from the surrounding world, travel. He designed m.He designed, among others, the Angel Orchestra, the Cat Orchestra, the Jewish Orchestra, porcelain figurines of cats in his characteristic square style. He also created the Pink Flamingo figurine, made of pink porcelain. Thanks to the efforts of Adam Spała, it was possible to establish cooperation with Lubomir Tomaszewski, an artist who created new porcelain sculpture designs for the factory. The contact with Zofia Krynska resulted in the pink porcelain factory reconstructing, after more than 70 years of interruption in its production. Thanks to hard work and great passion which is porcelain, Adam Spała, in cooperation with the best artists and modelers, reconstructed the original porcelain service Matylda (with a characteristic square foot). The set was made in Ćmielów to the order of Tsar Nicholas II for the Polish primal miner Matylda Krzesińska. He is the initiator and founder of the first live porcelain museum in Poland in Ćmielów (2005).
