Finarte is a Finnish family business and the leading design house for Finnish rugs. Since 1985, they have made rugs that reflect a careful balance of heritage and creativity, tradition and modernity, innovative design and sustainable materials. Their rugs and textiles are bright and fun, a real mix of craftsmanship with contemporary trends. Established by an artist Eija Rasinmäki and a businessman Erkki Immonen they began their production with rag rugs – weaved from fabric leftovers rugs that are traditional Finnish product. Still making them today, they are incredibly current, because of their sustainable and environment friendly production. To date, more than 60% of all materials used by Finarte are recycled. And they are not settling. In the 90s they moved their production from Europe to India where Finnish aesthetic met Indian handicraft tradition, making their products even more interesting. Finarte is committed to creating a world where home is a place for self-expression, a place where you can be uniquely you – sustainably.
